This is the INSTALL file for the Linux x86 Emulator Software.

Installation:
============

    This software was installed under RedHat distribution without problems
but it was not tested under other distributions.

    For the installation process you need to have superuser privileges.
After this you can run the Emulator as a user.

    Edit the /etc/ld.so.conf file and make sure the path /usr/local/lib
exists. If not, add it at the end of the file. This is the location where
Emulator stores the libraries.

    If you are going to use the Emulator as a user make sure that users
have write permisions in /usr/local/lib.

    Edit your profile or rc file and add the path to the Emulator/bin in
the PATH enviroment variable. Also add a variable named POWERON with the
value "yes" and don't forget to add POWERON in the export sentence.

    Type at the prompt # install, and the installation will start. Once
finished you can swap to user mode and run make. The process of compilation
will start and once finished the Emulator is ready to run.

    You can type at the prompt $ control to start Emulator.
