This is the README file for the distribution of the Linux x86 Emulator
Software for the Local Station Controler Pierre Auger Observatory.

Emulator is a software that intends to be a complete simulator for the Local
Station Controler under Linux x86 operating system instead of Os9.

It's main porpuse is to be a tool for aplication software development and
on desktop simulated Station Controler. That's why it is made for running
under linux operating system. One thing to have in mind is that it has no
real time capabilities like Os9.

The core of the Emulator is a cross-library that implements and translates
all the Os9 functions and system calls into linux ones. So the software made
for the Station Controler can be compiled in a linux machine without any major
change. This library is in ./lib/Os9lib. The Augerlib contains the functions
for the processes. In this version this library come separate from the other
code but in the future it will come as in the CVS repository for easyly
downloading of the complete code.

This software is under construction so it has not total functionality.
Only can see the processes runing and fake data if it is asked with PAMPa.

Any new revision is going to be reported in the NEWS file. This version is
distributed with the all the sources but the idea is that in the future the
sources will be downloaded thru the CVS server in the Acq folder.

For the installation process please read the INSTALL file for instructions.

Any idea or contribution will be wellcome, please contact...
